Laura graduated from the Animal Health Technology program in Kamloops in 2002. She spent five years working exclusively with cats before joining the McKenzie Veterinary team in 2008, where she’s enjoyed caring for multiple species ever since. Variety is one the favorite parts of her career. From the easy going dog who happily trusts her with a leg for a blood draw and a cookie, to the growing cat who requires just the right kind of quiet and careful and attention, Laura enjoys working with all temperaments of patients. She also loves the ‘jack of all trades’ challenge required of a veterinary technician, having to remain skilled in everything from anesthetics to lab work.

In her personal life, she’s kept busy with 3 children, 3 cats, and a slight running addiction. She puts in the kilometres whenever she can.
