Dr Durmuller was born and raised in Port Alberni, BC. Having grown up around animals, her love for them started early. Shortly after a career fair in grade 9, she decided that she wanted to become a veterinarian and was determined to make her dream a reality.
After graduating from high school in 1999, she moved to Victoria where she completed 3 years of study at UVIC. She was then accepted into the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, SK where she graduated with her DVM in 2006. Tania spent the first 1.5 years practicing up island in Ladysmith and then decided to move to Victoria in January 2008. She started working at North Douglas Veterinary Clinic at this time, but became an associate veterinarian at McKenzie Veterinary Services when the clinics merged that summer.
In her spare time, Tania spends most of it with her family. That includes chasing after her incredibly “busy” daughters, as well as cuddling the geriatric family cat “Smeegle”. In between the chaos, she still tries to sneak in a workout at the gym since she’s always had a love for health and fitness. That being said, she also loves her “lazy” time watching Netflix, trashy reality TV, or NFL football (go Cowboys!). Given her busy life at home, she looks forward to the “break” that her job at McKenzie gives her!
