Ann Signorella grew up in a very Italian family just outside of Boston. She learned to cook, bake and sew at a young age, and raised a pile of animals that she and her brother brought home. She completed a double degree in Biology and Fine Arts and was an NCAA MVP lacrosse player in university. In 2010, Ann graduated with distinction from the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Oceans and mountains brought her to BC and she has been in small animal and exotic practice in Victoria ever since.
Growing from a love affair with her own small ginger, Louis, Ann brings a special interest in feline medicine. She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and is often described as ‘The Cat Whisperer’ with her low stress approach and knowledge of feline behaviour and internal medicine. She is an experienced surgeon, enjoys dermatology, and has developed a reputation for her knowledge of exotic species.
In her spare time, Ann is an avid trail runner, yogi, rock climber and guitarist. She has a passion for travel, cooking, laughter and love. Ann shares life with her partner, Tracey, two beautiful step-children, a Charlie dog, and two superb felines, Louis and Huckleberry.
