Dr. Terry Chatton is proud to be a true “Islander”–being born and raised in Victoria, attending Victoria High, and then achieving a BSc at the University of Victoria in marine zoology. He then journeyed from his beloved Vancouver Island to the flat prairie of Saskatchewan to attend the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Graduating in 1975, he, like the vast majority of graduates in the day, entered into a mixed practice, doing everything from pets to cows and horses. Sometimes in less than comfortable circumstances!! In 1987, Dr. Chatton made the decision to abandon the large animal aspect of practice and focus his interest strictly in small animal practice. His venues have ranged from the Northern Interior to returning back to the Island in 1992. With over 34 years of experience, Dr. Chatton still loves his work and takes special interest in internal medical cases involving dogs and cats.
Outside the hospital, he lives in Sidney, has a passion for sea kayaking and his motorcycle; and attempts to maintain harmony between his 7 year old Border Collie, Belle, and his young whippersnapper, 10 month old ‘Labradoodle’, Finnegan! He is both delighted and excited to be working at the McKenzie Veterinary Services on a permanent basis. He is looking forward to meeting many new clients and their loved pets.
