We recommend booking an appointment. We can often fit you in on the day you call. We will also see “walk-ins”, although you may have to wait. We are committed to seeing each client on time, but delays happen, for which we apologize for the impact this has on our clients and their pets. Delays may be created as emergency cases will always receive a higher priority.
For your convenience, if we do not have appointment times available, we do have ‘drop-off’ appointments available. A ‘drop off’ means you bring your pet and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments. Once the doctor is done, they will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions.
We make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits. To this end, we require that all dogs be placed on a short leash and all cats be placed in pet carriers before entering the hospital. Our receptionists will lend you a leash or a carrier for the duration of your visit if you arrive without one.
Full payment is due at the time that services are rendered. We do not extend any credit. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Debit or Cash.
If funds are unavailable and you have a good credit rating, there is a finance company that may assist you: Health Smart – This is a financial lending company for medical health care for both humans and pets. An appointment time with us will be required to complete your application. Please note that we have a one time processing fee that would be added on to your payments; however, the advantage of Health Smart is that payments can be spread out over a 6 or 12 month period.

Over Night Boarding
McKenzie Veterinary Services is a full-service veterinary facility. We are fully staffed during regular business hours and have a dedicated team providing care for all our hospitalized patients. After regular business hours, we do not have staff on site.We recommend that all patients requiring intensive overnight care and monitoring be admitted to Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital where 24 hr emergency and critical care can be provided.
Patients who do not require monitoring and care overnight may be boarded at McKenzie Veterinary Services. However, pets who remain in the clinic overnight will not be supervised. In general, we prefer that non-critical medical or post-surgery patients be sent home and monitored by their owners. Many pets recover better in their familiar home environment.
In situations where an owner prefers their pet stay in the clinic overnight we require them to read and sign a waiver regarding the risks of unmonitored overnight hospitalization.
