Our ideal addition to the Patient Care Team would be a passionate, experienced RVT that can care for their patients in various roles and help us grow a community built on respect and empathy. We are very willing to consider enthusiastic and driven recent graduates excited to grow their skillset and career.

As a vital part of our Patient Care Team, you’ll get to work various shifts and positions. From hustling through a shift in the lab and helping with appointments on Monday, to induction and monitoring in surgery on Tuesday, to assisting in the dental suite on a Friday, life at McKenzie is never mundane!

Your hard work and dedication to our mission will get you recognition, enthusiasm, great pay and some fantastic benefits:

We realize that technology and efficiency often go hand in hand. That’s why we invested in DR x-ray small animal and dental units, ultrasound, IDEXX lab equipment and many other smaller items around the clinic. We are a paper-lite practice that recognizes our responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint.

We offer a generous signing bonus and above-average wages that are adjusted annually to stay competitive and allow us to recognize stellar performance. Our current range is $25.25 – $32.40.

We recognize how vital the health of our team is. That’s why we offer paid sick days and a comprehensive insurance plan that includes health, vision, dental, and life insurance.

Your pets are an essential part of our family, which is why we offer ‘Fur’ternity leave when you get a new pet and bereavement leave when it’s time to say goodbye.

We want you to prepare for your future, so we offer an RRSP program to help you reach your savings goals.

Volunteerism is appreciated here. We will offer a donation where you volunteer to help you make an even bigger impact on causes that matter to you.

Reach your full potential with our annual CE account. You can develop your interests into your passions and make your job more fulfilling.

We are searching for an organized, tech-savvy person who enjoys the hustle and challenge of working in a veterinary clinic to join our Patient Care Team. We would love you to have some experience under your belt, but we are happy to train the right person!

If you enjoy caring for animals and don’t mind getting a little dirty, this might be the job for you! You’ll need strong communication and exceptional typing skills to help the veterinarians during appointments. You will be right in the thick of the action, typing notes, making lab requisitions, sending communications to clients, making sure the doctors are on time and ensuring the rooms are tidy between patients. A Class 5 license and safe driving skills are also required to assist the veterinarians on house calls.

Some days you’ll be an organizational star by helping the Technicians with their appointments. These can include nail trims, collecting samples, and helping to administer fluids, along with filing lab results, sending x-rays, and helping the veterinarians with odd jobs.

Your calm attitude and fantastic time management skills will come in handy when you are doing a surgical or dental shift where you’ll be getting things set up for the veterinarians, admitting patients and helping to recover and discharge them at the end of the day.

It’s a lot of work, but you’ll be making a direct difference in the lives of our patients. A job well done will be rewarded with above industry average pay, a great team of co-workers and benefits that are actually beneficial!
