Born in Victoria and raised in Mill Bay, a rural lifestyle allowed Ashley to be her animal obsessed self. Ashley’s family always had a dog and multiple cats around the house that she has continually regarded as family members. At the age of 16, Ashley got an after-school job at a hospital in Mill Bay as an assistant. In 2010 it was clear her optimal career choice was becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. Ashley started the Distance Animal Health Technology Program from Thompson Rivers University in 2011, this allowed her to work and learn at the same time, gaining extremely valuable hands-on experience in a mixed animal practice. Over the years, anesthesia, dentistry, critical care, and rehabilitation have become Ashley’s primary areas of interest. In May of 2018, Ashley joined the McKenzie team and is very eager to learn more from all of her outstanding co-workers. When not at work, Ashley is enjoying the outdoors with 2 dogs (her “kids”) and her horse Foxy.
