Kamala graduated from NAIT’s Animal Health Technology program in Edmonton a long time ago. Her first 10 years were spent working at another local clinic and taking time off to travel to Australia and New Zealand. She has been working part time at McKenzie Veterinary Services since 2003. Kamala has a special interest in cat behaviour and welcomes client to ask about any cat related issues. Kamala is also passionate about animal welfare and rescue. In addition to being owned by 4 cats and one dog (all rescues), she has fostered dozens of cats for Dee’s Orphan Kitten Fund. travels to participate in animal welfare clinics have taken her to Rarotongoa in the Cook Island, Mexico and Ahousat, a first nations community 40 minutes by boat from Tofino. Kamala is married and a mother to a very active 6 year old daughter. She enjoys reading, baking, spending time outdoors with her family and playing ice hockey.
